A safe, healing, Growing space For Seekers, ARTISTS, individuals, Families, adolescents, children And toddlers.
Inside all of us are young, creative, passionate parts of ourselves that are often angry and sad because they have been isolated, suppressed and rejected. As we unlock our potential these parts of us come forth to be identified, acknowledged, find attachment, acceptance and to be integrated. As we move through the cycles of activation in our nervous system, learning new ways to cycle through the rapture of life, without collapsing and disappearing, we gently and slowly integrate those splintered off parts of ourselves and grow into the gifts of the wonderfully unique and multifaceted self we have always had the potential to be.
Amanda Webb is a Counseling Psychotherapist (MA; M.Crim; SEP) in Brisbane Australia offering individual, toddler, child, adolescent and family, and actor and artist development sessions. To do this Amanda employs Somatic Experiencing, Organic Intelligence, parts work, somatic practice touch sessions, somatic play therapy and expressive therapies. She will join with you, listening, witnessing and guiding you carefully, with curiosity and compassion, as the story of your body and your nervous system unfolds. Her attentive, active presence invites the story of the body to emerge in a place of safety.
As regulation and attunement come on-line, your body becomes a resource, helping you differentiate between what is coming from the external environment and what is coming from inside of you. As trust in this inner knowing increases, self esteem and confidence improves. Increased resiliency helps navigate stressors preventing you from living well, succeeding in your chosen path and the pursuit and fulfillment of your hearts desire. As you re-negotiate earlier painful experiences and extract from them the gifts they bring many of these stressors transform enabling you to move forward gently and harmoniously in this noisy world. As your body, mind and spirit are unified, the clutter is dispersed and the voices in your head shouting their bad advice are quietened, your uniqueness emerges and you can embrace and embody your potential.
"If you bring forth that which is within you, then that which is within you will be your salvation. If you do not bring forth that which is within you, then that which is within you will destroy you. —THE GNOSTIC GOSPELS” ― Peter A. Levine
Regulating Touch Practice In Psychotherapy
The body holds the answer to your healing.
"Psychoanalytic tradition teaches us that using touch to satisfy a patient’s desire for the missing comfort of the mother fosters a
clinging infantile dependency, and serves as a stimulant for Oedipal fantasies". Dr. Aline LaPierre
From a Somatic Practice Perspective...
"Avoiding safe, nurturing touch is a cruel re-creation of the original relational trauma, a repeat of the experience of physical neglect or rejection undergone by an individual as a child. "
Dr. Aline LaPierre

“How do you quiet down the frightened animal inside of you? The answer to that is probably in the same way that you quiet down babies. You quiet them by holding and touching them, by being very much in tune with them, by feeding and rocking them, and by very gradual exposure to trying new things.” Bessel van der Kolk, MD
